About this site

As explained in my First Post, I`m not really sure what I`ll end up posting here yet. At the time of this writing, I`ve just changed the heading and the slogan of the site, and I suppose the two of them together are about as precise an answer as you will get: Whatever I do think about whatever things I may end up thinking about (According to some friends of mine, there tend to be way to many of the latter, while the former tend to be unnecessarily complicated..)

So why the word “Contemplations”, and why is it spelled so obviously wrong? (And what are those gosh darn stupid braces all about?). Well, there are several things:

  • Contemplations is just that: Whatever comes to my mind as I`m writing. (“Meditations” just seemed a tad aloof, and besides, it was already taken! ;) )
  • My name starts with a K (Kjartan)
  • The K is a somewhat vague tribute to the KDE Desktop Environment, which I keep falling more and more in love with (and which also has a slightly superfluous K in it`s name). I`ll have to write a short review of my experience with Ubuntu and KDE some day soon.
  • The braces are just to make it stand out as something done on purpose (“It`s not a bug, it`s a feature!“).
